Her net-art work has been commissioned by Turbulence, and by the Whitney Museum for artport; her Internet/theater work has been presented by the "Theater am Neumarkt" in Zürich, Switzerland. She participated in the Virtual Residency 2.0 at Location One, and was invited to several international Festivals on networked culture and performance. Her work is part of the ursula blickle's videoarchiv at the Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna, Austria, and the Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art at Cornell University. http://www.ursenal.net Bio long: Ursula Endlicher's work resides on the intersection of Internet, performance and multi-media installation. Since 1994 the Internet has had an impact on her practice where she bridges the Web and physical reality. Her focus lies in translating the social and structural components of the Web into choreography for performances, into installations and objects. Recently: a presentation of works at the LISA (Leaders in Software and Art) conference at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. Running for the last year was a new project called "Light and Dark Networks", two online data performances commissioned by the Whitney Museum of American Art, curated by Christiane Paul. She currently shows works at ZERO1 Biennial and ISEA2012. Just recently she developed a new live networked performance (and installation) called "Remote Schmink-a-thon" for the Digital Media Festival in Vermont. Previously Endlicher started a new project called "interACTicons" which premiered at the transmediale.11 festival in Berlin, Germany, and which is currently shown at the Paraflows.7, the 2012 Festival in Vienna. Recently she also produced a new performance/installation "Website Annotations/Impersonations" at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Previously she participated in "the future is not what it used to be", a group show at the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw, Poland, which brought together artists engaged in the Internet shaped culture, curated by Magdalena Sawon. Recently, Endlicher exhibitied also "Partly Cloudy Structures", a new net-art piece and installation, at the exhibition "Shadow & Light" in Lövestad, Sweden. Before that she showed "3 min html movements" at the Artboom Festival in Krakow, Poland. Before, a sequence of "Facebook Re-enactments" which was part of the show "Mirror, Mirror" at Postmasters Gallery. She was also showing a new "Website Wig" Installation at Jersey City Museum -- an installation of the the museum's website as a Wig (at the group show: Hair Tactics). Before that she showed a new installation/performance series "Website Impersonations: The Next Generation" at SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 in Yokohama, Japan. Just before she showed "Facebook User Labor Enactments" at "The Internet as Playground and Factory", a conference on digital labor at The New School in New York. Before this, she exhibited "Facebook Re-enactments" at Location One Gallery in New York which was developed during their Virtual Residency 2.0 program. She recently also showed the final part of her ten-part performance series "Website Impersonations: The Ten Most Visited" (www.google.com) at the Center for Performance Research. Before that she produced another part of this series - www.facebook.com - at Light Industry in Brooklyn, part of "Theater of Code", curated by Christiane Paul. Endlicher showed her work also at Theater am Neumarkt in Zürich, Switzerland, at Gallery Dana Charkasi in Vienna, Austria, at Quartier21/Museumsquartier, Vienna, Austria, at Beral Madra Contemporary Art Center in Istanbul, Turkey, at Woodstreet Galleries, Pittsburgh, and at Artists Space in New York. She participated in the Performance Mix Festival at the LMCC Swing Space@Seaport, New York, and at the MULTIPLACE network culture festival in Slovakia. Her work is included in the ursula blicke videoarchiv at Kunsthalle Wien, at the Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art, Cornell University, and has been featured on Furtherfield.org. Endlicher's projects include Website Impersonations: The Ten Most Visited (2006-09), a ten-part Live/Web performance series that utilizes Web Code as choreography. This series as well as the project html_butoh, a web-based participatory performance commissioned by Turbulence.org in 2007, are built on the html-movement-library, a database for small video clips enacting the html language through movement. She created Website Impersonations: The Amazons (.at versus .com), an interactive multi-media installation with real-time web-feed navigable via the interactive "mouse-chair" for which she received a production grant by the Austrian Cultural Forum NYin 2006. A presentation of her web works including Famous For One Spam was commissioned by the Whitney Museum, for artport's Gate Pages in 2004. Web Performer 1.0 was among the first net art works included into Rhizome's ArtBase in 1999. She produced her very first piece for the Internet - "Left/Right", downloadable files that could be printed out and assembled - for The Thing BBS in Vienna in 1994. She has lectured about her work in the US, Europe, and Asia, and has been contributing to several international publications about net art, performance and interactivity. Together with Ela Kagel she ran the blog Curating net art from 2006-2009, discussing net art and the questions of its curation online and in "physical" space. Endlicher's work can be seen at www.ursenal.net. Born in Vienna, Austria, she lives and works as a "multiple-media" artist in New York since 1993.
